Walt Hibbard

Walt: the second advent was imminent, the resurrection of the dead was also imminent, the judgment of the just and the unjust was also imminent, the new heaven and new earth was also imminent.

Walt: The term "last days" are the last days of the Old Covenant age which finally ended in judgment at A.D.70. We have been in the New Covenant age since A.D.70. The Jews in Old Covenant days spoke of two ages: this present age (meaning the Old Covenant age that they were living in), and the age to come (the age after the Messiah comes, namely the New Covenant age)

Our Presuppositions Are What Makes The Difference
Walt: The writer to the Hebrews tells us that the last vestiges of the Old Covenant age did not come to a final completion until past the time of the writing of his Epistle. Heb. 8:13 reads: "In the saying, "New," He has made the first old. And the thing having been made old and growing aged [is] near disappearing." Notice that the Old Covenant did not finally end at the Cross, but rather at the consummation of A.D.70. Heb. 8:13 makes that very clear. http://www.preteristviewpoint.com/id17.html

When Context Becomes Pretext In Eschatology
Walt: During the period that His disciples sat under His ministry, much of the content of His teaching was directly or indirectly relating to the soon-approaching Kingdom age. Walt: All Bible prophecy found fulfillment by A.D. 70 and therefore nothing remains to be fulfilled beyond this date. This does not mean that there are no on-going aspects extending beyond this date. Walt: Just as the Cross Event was fulfilled once for all in the first century and the benefits of this once for all Atonement continue with forthcoming generations for ever, so in the case of the Resurrection of the Dead, the Christians dying physically throughout history receive their incorruptible, immortal, glorious, spiritual bodies at the time of death. Walt: Yet both events were fulfilled in the first century and do not await future fulfillment. The benefits are eternal in nature and manifest themselves in individual lives forever. http://www.preteristviewpoint.com/id36.html
